When one considers the dynamics of male and female it is important to explore the Biblical aspects of their original design by God. It is this original design that sets forth the "archetype" and "primeval purpose" for the existence for the two of them.
Adam was created in the image of God and as such is a direct reflection of God in the earth. Created to reveal the God and His nature in this material existence and to literally spread the presence and sovereignty of God into the created universe by being a vice-regent son. We are told that God forms man from the dust of the earth.
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7
The word "formed" is rendered in the Hebrew as "Yatsar". It indicates that God molded a shape and form as though a potter takes time to mold clay. It also reflects the great care and precision that God used in forming this being into His own image. In the Image of God Adam was Masculine (not in gender) but in "Qualitative Life." Qualitative Life is the condition and state of being of one's soulish being. It is the element of the soul that enables an individual to express their being and existence in a specific quality or action, personality or behavior. Being in the image of God, Adam was composed of elements that we would call "masculus" as well as "femina." The term masculus refers to that which pertains to a man as God made him. I am not concerned with the shifting applications of words in their political correctness nor am I so concerned with the views of a neo-pagan society that does not acknowledge the Bible as the Word of God. So in considering the term masculus it was God that understands and sets forth the meaning of "manliness." This term was to describe the man Adam externally and in some degree internally. For God, not possessing a body made the body of Adam to express the inward masculine qualities of God that cannot be seen. What God possesses inwardly Adam would reflect in his body and soul. The Masculinity was present in that the man was masculine in his form. The nature of the man's body would also determine how this being Adam would process, view and understand his surroundings and his God. In fact, this masculine nature would also determine how the man would see and respond to his world and all that he came in contact with. The feminine aspects of the being of Adam would be the opposite of his masculinity. Where masculinity would be expressed through:
1. The qualities of a man, robustness, strength
2. Course, roughness as opposed to softness or delicate
3. Bold and forthright prepared to engage
The feminine aspect of God would be contained within the scope of the term femina, which would refer to the following:
1. Soft, delicate
2. Nurturing, a nurse
3. Effeminate, not having manly qualities
The term feminine is believed to come from a smaller root word Wem (an off-shoot of wom) and therefore the femb would be wemb and ultimately indicate womb. The female would be the Wombed Man or woman. Because she is the receiver of life and the carrier of life the female become one in soul to nurture and develop to a greater degree. The fundamental differences of the soulish tendencies of man and woman are the total qualitative essence within the being and nature of God. He is equally and harmonically mixed with both "Masculus and femina" He is strong and might and yet He is also a gentle and loving God.
When God took Eve out of the side of Adam most of the femininity of the God qualitative live was placed within Eve. She would predominately be a nurturer who would be more delicate physically in appearance and would process her surroundings with and through her nurturing and feminine manner while Adam would retain the greater portion of masculinity. Qualitative Life is that essence within the soul that is integrated within the physiological that will determine how an individual will process, react to and manifest their individuality. It is this life that determines whether an individual is masculine or feminine.
